Yuri Arkhipov

Yuri, an expert in corporate law, focuses on energy and natural resources, including legal support for oil and gas projects. He advises on M&A transactions, procurement of goods by state enterprises in Russia, and general corporate matters. Yuri has considerable experience negotiating production sharing agreements (PSAs) for Russian and foreign investors in Russia and abroad.

He has participated in structuring and implementing a variety of large-scale exploration projects, including offshore drilling operations on the Russian continental shelf. In particular, Yuri provided legal support for exploration projects in the Barents, Kara, Pechora, and Black Seas, including drafting drilling and service contracts and procuring combined energy insurance.



Advising an investment group on a gas project in Uzbekistan for the exploration of a gas field, future production under the terms of a production sharing agreement, and construction of a gas chemical complex. Total volume of investments: $5.5 b (2017-present)

Advising an investment consortium on all legal aspects of a project for a midterm increase in oil and gas extraction in Uzbekistan, including drafting and negotiating 400+ well construction contracts, as well as credit documentation. Total volume of investments: $3.9 b (2017-present)

Advising a private investor in the framework of a major infrastructure project for the construction of a terminal for the transshipment of liquefied hydrocarbons (LPG) in a seaport in the Far East of Russia. Deal value: $2.1 b (2018-present)

Advising a Russian businessperson on a long-term investment project for increasing the capacity of the Gazli natural underground gas storage facility in Uzbekistan, including additional exploration, and the development of gas horizons and oil rims of the gas fields. Volume of investments: up to $1 b (2019-present)

Advising a private investor on entering into a project for the construction of a large (30 thousand ha) full-cycle meat and dairy farm in Jizzax, Uzbekistan. Volume of investments: $120 m (2018-present)
