For 14+ years, Sergey has specialised in commercial litigation and insolvency. He represents corporate clients in lawsuits concerning breach of contractual obligations, state import and export regulations, and protection of industrial property, as well as IP and competition matters. Sergey also regularly advises on complex insolvency cases, recovery of debts, and related litigation.



Representing one of Russia’s largest banks with regard to the collection and restructuring of debt, as well as the initiation and legal backing of bankruptcy proceedings against a Russian company that renders services for the construction of power-generating facilities, including legal actions against the unfair actions of the former top manager of the debtor. Matter value: ₽13.3 b+ ($221 m+) (2016-present)

Represented Russia’s biggest textile manufacturer in a court dispute over violation of IP rights by Adidas. Matter value: ₽250 m ($3.5 m+) (2019-2022)

Provided legal defence to a famous Russian ice-hockey club in a dispute over IP rights for a work of visual art which had been used for the club’s promotional merchandise. Amount of claims: ₽7 m ($115 k+)  (2018-2020)

Represented a local real estate developer in Moscow in a series of controversial and precedent-setting disputes with a public authority on the transfer of state real property to the client (2013-2018)

Represented Power Machines, a Russian energy systems machine-building major, in a dispute with E4 Group, one of the biggest engineering companies in Russia, on debt collection under a contract for the supply of thermal power station equipment. Matter value: ₽3.3 b ($55 m) (2015-2017)

Represented one of the leading Russian construction companies in the oil & gas industry in a complex dispute on debt recovery. The debt was incurred from 10 different agreements between the client and one of its subcontractors. The dispute is accompanied by the insolvency of the debtor. Matter value: ₽1.3 b ($21 m+) (2017-2020)
