Mikhail Krotov

Mikhail specialises in corporate law. For more than eight years, he has been advising clients on selling and acquiring Russian and foreign assets, setting up joint ventures, and on general corporate and commercial issues.

He is also experienced in intra-group restructuring support and pre-acquisition due diligence.



Advised an investor on acquiring property and land plots in Moscow for subsequent (re)development and (re)construction into multifunctional urban areas. Deal value: ₽45 bn (2023)

Advised an institutional investor on setting up two joint ventures: with a R&D enterprise and an oilfield service company. Value of the deals: ₽35 bn (2024)

Advised an investment fund on proposed acquisition of a controlling stake in a big chemical company, including legal due diligence. Asset revenue: ₽80+ bn p.a. (2023)

Advised Gazprombank on a highly complex asset deal involving sale to Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, Russia’s biggest electricity producer, of two major nuclear industry suppliers, Izhorskiye Zavody and OMZ-Spetsstal. Deal value confidential (2019-2022)

Advised Severstal, a Russian steel major, on selling to the Russian Energy Group a 100% stake in Vorkutaugol, one of the country’s biggest coal mining companies. Matter value: ₽15 bn ($250 m) (2021)

Advised a Russian investor on selling a blocking stake in a big Russian oil terminal and its agency company to a Russian state-owned transshipment company. Deal value: ₽30 bn ($500 m+) (2019)

Advised a Top-3 Russian bank on acquiring a minority stake in the big Russian pharmacy chain Asna. Deal value: over ₽1 bn ($15 m) (2020)
