Ramil Yusupzyanov

Ramil specialises in Russian and international taxation and tax planning. For more than ten years, he has been advising on public and private company restructuring and assisting the firm’s private clients with their asset and capital structuring.

Ramil has successfully represented the firm’s clients in numerous tax disputes, focusing on pre-trial settlement.



Advised a big Russian bank on refinancing loans to a leading Russian real estate developer, including refinancing and planning tax optimisation. Deal value: ₽120 bn (2022-2023)

Tax risk analysis and elaboration of a tax mitigation plan in relation to acquisition by Gazprombank from Swedish Ingka Centres of the Russian Mega chain, consisting of 14 shopping centres with a total area of about 2.3 million sq. m. Deal value: over €2 bn (2023)

Advising a Russian investment group on exiting a joint meat-processing plant by selling its stake to the joint venture partner, including finance and tax structuring. Deal value: ₽2.5 bn (2023)

Advising on tax aspects of a large-scale PPP-project for building a new highway in the Moscow Region. Matter value: ₽156 bn ($2.5 bn) (2022-present)

Represented a local real estate developer in a dispute over a tax deduction right during construction of a social infrastructure facility. Matter value: ₽50 m ($833 k) (2017-2019)

Advised one of the world’s biggest international construction companies on obtaining significant compensation for VAT surcharges in the context of a project for constructing an LNG-production facility in Western Siberia. Deal value: $590 m (2018)
