Andrey Gorlenko appointed to HKIAC Council

Andrey Gorlenko, Head of the International Dispute Resolution Practice International Dispute Resolution, has been appointed to the Council of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC). The HKIAC Council, a collegial body responsible for the general governance of HKIAC, is comprised of leading representatives of the arbitration and business communities from around the world. Andrey Gorlenko is currently the sole representative of Russia on the HKIAC Council.

The Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) was established in 1985. Over the past 40 years, it has become one of the leading international institutions in the field of alternative dispute resolution and mediation. HKIAC's mission is to provide parties from any jurisdiction with the opportunity to fairly and effectively resolve their disputes, regardless of their scale or complexity.

According to the joint 2025 report by White & Case and Queen Mary University of London, Hong Kong is among the top five most popular seats of arbitration, and the HKIAC rules are among the top five most popular arbitration rules in the world. Since 2019, the HKIAC has held the status of a permanent arbitration institution (PAI) in Russia.

In September 2025, Ivanyan & Partners Law Firm announced the opening of Ivanyan & Co – the first Russian law firm in Hong Kong (a Registered Foreign Law Firm). Andrey Gorlenko is a Senior Resident Partner at Ivanyan & Co, based in Hong Kong.
